A beauty clinic in China has been accused of ‘tricking’ a 19-year-old man who is intellectually disabled into getting breast implants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The teenager who was desperate for a job<\/a> went and visited a cosmetic surgery clinic in Wuhan for work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This comes after a spokesperson for the National Bureau of Statistics said that 33 million people aged 16 to 24 in China<\/a> suffered from unemployment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The pressure on employment still exists,” Liu Aihua told a press conference on Thursday (15 August).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Key groups still face pressure (in finding work).”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now, in a desperate attempt to secure a job, the teen was supposedly scammed by the clinic, who reportedly told him that he would earn money<\/a> from live streaming if he underwent breast augmentation surgery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After the clinic allegedly convinced him to borrow 30,000 yuan (\u00a33,238.39) to pay for the procedure, the teenager seemingly went through with it, leaving family members shocked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhen our family heard about this, we were absolutely shocked. It was like the sky was falling. He\u2019s only 19 years old,\u201d his mother told<\/a> South China Morning Post (SCMP).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to WeChat conversations cited in SCMP, the son was apparently told her would earn ‘full board with a monthly salary of 3,000 yuan (\u00a3323.84)’.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYou can get the breast surgery done first and start working once you\u2019ve recovered,\u201d a staff member reportedly told the teen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe have many live-streamers who undergo cosmetic surgery here and make a lot of money.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSome platforms allow withdrawals within a week, and others even allow daily withdrawals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe surgery made my son\u2019s chest a B-cup, with two long scars underneath. Seeing those scars breaks my heart,\u201d his mother said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She says her son has the ‘mental capacity of a five-year-old’.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hu Junjie, a lawyer from Hubei Today Law Firm, told Hubei Media Group: \u201cIf the person has no capacity for civil conduct, a guardian, the parents in this case, must sign for such procedures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cFirst, the money must be refunded, and second, if any harm was caused, compensation must be provided.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Taking to social media, people have been left stunned by the situation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhat? A 19-year-old boy? Breast enlargement? I can\u2019t believe my own eyes,\u201d one person wrote.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
