He was killed in a gunfight while on duty in 2013, trying to rescue a woman and her children. His heroic actions saved their lives, earning him posthumous recognition in Indiana, USA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Despite the years that passed, Sierra never stopped grieving. She frequently visited her father\u2019s grave, leaving messages and flowers, as a way to cope with her loss. \u201cIt is difficult to describe the agony one feels upon permanently separating from a loved one, and this agony is made worse when the person experiencing it is a small child,\u201d reflects Sierra\u2019s story.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Four years after the incident, Sierra graduated from high school. To honor her father, she and her boyfriend visited his grave after the ceremony to take a special photo.
