{"id":11671,"date":"2024-08-24T03:30:39","date_gmt":"2024-08-24T03:30:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pulsperry.com\/?p=11671"},"modified":"2024-08-24T03:30:39","modified_gmt":"2024-08-24T03:30:39","slug":"marlo-thomas-speaks-out-about-her-late-husband-phil-donahue","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pulsperry.com\/?p=11671","title":{"rendered":"Marlo Thomas Speaks Out About Her Late Husband Phil Donahue"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Marlo Thomas Speaks Out About Her Late Husband Phil Donahue<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/timelesslife.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/Screenshot-2024-08-23-014554.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-160038\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Marlo Thomas released an emotional statement Monday after her beloved husband Phil Donahue passed away at age 88.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The actress, best known for her starring role in the \u201860s and \u201870s sitcom That Girl, paid tribute to the legendary talk show host and announced she would be \u201cstepping away\u201d to grieve the loss of her husband.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m sure by now you\u2019ve heard the very sad news that I lost my sweetheart last night,\u201d she began.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thomas shared that she would be taking a break from social media to \u201ctake care of myself and the many people who took care of Phil, and held him close to their hearts,\u201d but she didn\u2019t want to leave without saying a few words.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI didn\u2019t want to disappear without saying thank you for the beautiful messages of love and support that have been coming in all day, and for the wonderful and generous way that you\u2019ve let Phil and me share our life adventure with you over the years,\u201d she wrote alongside an old photo of the pair seated on a Vespa while on vacation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\" id=\"attachment_160039\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/timelesslife.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/Screenshot-2024-08-23-014647.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-160039\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Debby Wong \/ Shutterstock.com<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The couple met in 1977 when Thomas appeared on Donahue\u2019s talk show as a guest, and they got married in 1980.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt was kind of love at first sight,\u201d Thomas recalled in 2021. \u201cSomething chemical happened.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\" id=\"attachment_160040\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/timelesslife.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/Screenshot-2024-08-23-014729.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-160040\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">s_bukley \/ Shutterstock.com<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Thomas, who often shared photos of Donahue on her Instagram, thanked fans for the outpouring of support over the years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAs a man who spent his career loving his audiences, Phil got such a kick out of our cozy little community here, and I know he would be very touched by the heartwarming thoughts and memories you\u2019ve been sharing.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a href=\"https:\/\/pulsperry.com\/us-politics-and-current-events-news-analysis-and-opinion-pieces-on-domestic-and-international-politics-policy-and-social-issues\/\" title=\"\">ALSO READ<\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Before Thomas signed off, she wished her followers \u201cgood health and happy days in the company of family and friends.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAnd I hope that you will continue to hold close those you cherish most, just as I was blessed to do with my beloved Phillip.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Marlo Thomas Speaks Out About Her Late Husband Phil Donahue Marlo Thomas released an emotional statement Monday after her beloved husband Phil Donahue passed away at age&#8230;
