It\u2019s always nice to have a loyal pet by your side. Animals have excellent intuition and can move quickly to assist you if an emergency arises.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For example, one intelligent cat has been credited with saving the life of his 83-year-old owner when she fell into a ravine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On August 14, Bodmin Police in England launched a search for an elderly woman who had gone missing in the region. But it wasn\u2019t long before they made a breakthrough, due to an unexpected source.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A local woman reported hearing a cat meowing ceaselessly in the corner of a vast maize field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Soon, the neighbor understood that the cat, Piran, belonged to the missing woman and was attempting to notify her of her whereabouts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It turned out that the 83-year-old had fallen deep into an embankment in a field near her house.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe elderly female had fallen approximately 70ft down a very steep embankment, with incredibly difficult access and uneven terrain,\u201d Bodmin Police wrote.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When the missing woman was found, Bodmin Police and Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service rushed to help her get out of the valley.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cornwall Air Ambulance transported her to the hospital after she was airlifted. She was apparently in stable condition and, according to an update, is \u201cin good spirits\u201d while continuing to get treatment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a massive \u2018well done\u2019 to all the emergency services who worked together and to Piran,\u201d the anonymous neighbor told BBC. \u201cThe outcome could have been a lot worse.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While emergency responders performed the rescue, Piran deserves a lot of credit for saving his owner\u2019s life. Given the woman\u2019s age and her distance from the rescuers, it\u2019s easy to see how things could have turned out quite differently if the cat hadn\u2019t been so watchful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The cat has been praised as a hero: \u201cPiran the cat saved the day!\u201d Bodin Police posted on Facebook.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
