One night, as I walked home from work, lost in thought, the early morning streets were deserted. As I passed by my friend’s house, I saw her standing in the doorway, smiling at me. I smiled back and started to walk towards her, but something didn\u2019t feel right. As I reached the doorstep, a sudden chill ran down my spine. My friend had passed away in 2021, and her family had long since moved away. The smile that beckoned me was merely a memory, a friendly ghost from the past.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n
That eerie encounter left me shaken and made me realize how much of my life I had been living on autopilot. I was so focused on my thoughts, always reflecting on the past, that I forgot to be present in the moment. This experience made me understand the importance of self-awareness. Since then, I\u2019ve consciously practiced self-awareness. I take a few moments each day to sit quietly, notice my breathing, and observe my thoughts and feelings.
