I thought it was odd that he was carrying all his textbooks on a Friday, and my initial reaction was to label him as a “nerd.” My plans for the weekend were all set, so I shrugged it off and continued on my way. But as I walked, I noticed a group of kids approaching Kyle. They knocked his books from his arms, tripped him, and his glasses flew into the grass. Seeing the sadness in his eyes, I felt a pang of empathy. I hurried over, helped him find his glasses, and said, “Those guys are jerks. They really should get lives.” His grateful smile was a heartwarming sight, and we started chatting as I helped him pick up his books.

Kyle turned out to be a genuinely cool guy. He lived near me and had recently switched from private school. We clicked instantly, and by Saturday, he joined me and my friends for a game of football. We hit it off, and over the weekend, Kyle became a part of our group. By Monday, he was back at school with his books, and I joked about his “muscle-building” routine. He laughed and handed me half his load. Over the next four years, our friendship grew stronger. As seniors, we prepared for college—Kyle to Georgetown for pre-med and me to Duke on a football scholarship. Kyle was the valedictorian, and I teased him about being the “nerd” who would give the graduation speech.

On graduation day, Kyle, now confident and looking sharp, seemed nervous about his speech. I gave him a reassuring pat on the back and said, “Hey, you’ll do great!” When he began his speech, he surprised everyone by sharing the story of our first meeting. He revealed that he had planned to end his life that weekend and was carrying his books home to clear his locker. My simple act of kindness had changed his life. The room was filled with gasps as he spoke about how our friendship had saved him. Watching his parents smile at me, I realized the profound impact of our actions. Sometimes, a small gesture can change someone’s life in ways we never imagine. “Friends are like angels who lift us when our wings forget how to fly,” he said. It’s true—never underestimate the power of kindness.

also read……..

ONE SMALL ACT CAN CHANGE A LIFE FOREVER, It was a regular Friday afternoon when I saw Kyle, a kid from my high school, struggling with a…

[1
