If you had told us back then that we\u2019d end up together, we\u2019d have laughed. But after middle school, things changed. We started talking online, and somehow, we became best friends. Now, long-distance relationships aren\u2019t easy. There have been times when we\u2019ve had big arguments, and I\u2019d run to my parents, declaring that we had broken up. But they knew better. At this point, they\u2019d just smile, knowing that in a few hours, I\u2019d be back saying we\u2019d made up. We always work it out, because that\u2019s what being committed means\u2014you don\u2019t just walk away when things get tough. We\u2019ve learned how to communicate and trust each other, even when we\u2019re miles apart.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The most amazing part of this journey? We got married! It still blows my mind when I think about how far we\u2019ve come. I used to joke about never getting married, and now I\u2019m with the guy I couldn\u2019t stand as a kid. It just goes to show you, love can surprise you in the best ways. Our story isn\u2019t perfect, but it\u2019s ours. And living here in the U.S., where everyone has their own unique love stories, I feel lucky to have found mine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
