Every day, I was sinking deeper into a pit of self-destruction. I had multiple addictions, alcoholism, and a complete lack of self-worth. There was no sense of hope or purpose; I was simply existing. I didn\u2019t care if I lived or died. I found a spark through AA, which brought people into my life who genuinely cared. They helped me see that there was something worth fighting for. I left behind my old life as a bartender and discovered massage therapy\u2014a job that became my passion and saved me. Along the way, I picked up new hobbies: I became a gardener, an athlete, an artist. Each step I took in recovery brought me closer to who I really am. The darkness that once consumed me is a distant memory, replaced by light. Recovery didn\u2019t just save me\u2014it gave me a life worth living. And as I continue to grow, I\u2019ve learned that the journey never really ends.
