My husband has always made offhand comments about my weight. It stung every time, but I tried to let it go. I told myself it was just his way of coping, especially after losing his job. I thought if I supported him enough, things would get better. But last night was different\u2014he completely lost control. The things he said were so hurtful, comparing me to my best friend Kate, calling her more attractive. It broke my heart. I cried all night, feeling so low.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I woke up this morning with every intention to confront him and tell him how much his words hurt. I had it all planned out in my head, from the moment I walked into the kitchen to the exact words I would use. I was ready to let him know that enough was enough and that I deserved better than this constant criticism. I had spent the whole night rehearsing what I would say to him, imagining how the conversation would go.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But before I could say anything, karma stepped in. He slipped on some water in the kitchen, landed flat on his back, and couldn\u2019t get up right away. He looked so embarrassed, and I couldn\u2019t help but think how ironic it all was. Maybe the universe was giving him a much-needed wake-up call. Sometimes, life has a funny way of teaching lessons\u2014without us needing to say a word.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
