The stone is about the size of a rugby ball.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Because of its rarity and high value to perfume manufacturers, ambergris, which is created from the hardened intestinal sludge of a sperm whale, is sometimes known as \u201cfloating gold.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The material takes years to develop, and it is thought to protect the animal from the harsh, sharp items it eats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It can float in the ocean for a very long time before washing up on shore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/readlovepray.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/wow-863-3.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-6994\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>After being exposed to the sun and salty water for a long time, it turns into a smooth, grey lump of compact rock.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The discovery made by Gary, an engineer, and his wife was \u201ca bit of a shock.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to him, it was on a section of the beach where very few people used to stroll.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThough it smells awfully nasty. It has a very distinct smell that is similar to a cross between manure from a farm and squid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt has the texture of a really hard rubber ball. It has a waxy, candle-like feel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWax sticks to your fingers when you contact it.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He added: \u201cIf it is valuable, it will go a long way toward helping us purchase a static caravan.
