It was normally a peaceful route, with a few elderly folks chatting on benches, so she never felt unsafe. But one evening, when she left work later than usual, the park felt different\u2014darker and emptier than before. Turning, she saw a man running toward her. Alex\u2019s heart pounded as she quickened her pace, but when she glanced back, the man had stopped. Relieved but wary, she continued walking, only to realize moments later he was following again. This pattern repeated several times\u2014he\u2019d stop, walk away, then come toward her again, each time closer. She went to the police, shaken, to ask why he hadn\u2019t attacked her that night. His answer was terrifying: \u201cEvery time I got close, people appeared out of nowhere, shouting at me to leave you alone. They threatened to kill me if I didn\u2019t stop.\u201d Alex couldn\u2019t believe it\u2014there had been no one else in the park.
