At first, it seemed like a minor issue, but I quickly realized it was more serious than it appeared. The sidewall of a tire is one of the most vulnerable areas, and any damage here can be dangerous. Unlike the tread, which wears down over time, the sidewall handles much of the tire\u2019s pressure and flexing, meaning it\u2019s not something that can easily be patched. Sidewall cuts typically happen when tires scrape against sharp objects like curbs, potholes, or metal debris. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"735\" height=\"400\" src=\"https:\/\/pulsperry.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/image-654.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-30487\" srcset=\"https:\/\/pulsperry.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/image-654.png 735w, https:\/\/pulsperry.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/image-654-300x163.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 735px) 100vw, 735px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>If the damage is deep enough to expose the inner structure, it\u2019s critical to replace the tire immediately to avoid the risk of a blowout, especially at high speeds. The rim, too, had its fair share of scratches. While curb rash is mostly cosmetic, deep damage can weaken the rim\u2019s integrity and even affect how the tire seals.
