Despite facing severe health challenges, including brain cancer, liver cancer, a broken hip, and the loss of his wife Rosalynn in November, Carter\u2019s grandson assured that the 99-year-old&#8217;s spirit remains strong.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In an interview with <em>CBS Sunday Morning<\/em>, he expressed, &#8220;After a year in hospice, we have no expectations for his body, but we know that his spirit is as strong as ever.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Carter, who continues to reside at home with his family, is one of the rare few\u2014only six percent of individuals\u2014who has lived more than a year after entering hospice care.
