She would also show us odd instruments and trinkets that no one else in the family recognized.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I can only imagine it will be the same for me if I\u2019m fortunate enough to live as long as she did.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Perhaps it\u2019s this sense of nostalgia that makes \u201cwhat\u2019s this?\u201d articles so popular online. Yep, you guessed it: to locate water!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>An individual would hold both branches of the stick in each hand, palms facing upwards. The stem of the V (where the two rods meet) is tilted toward the Earth at a 45-degree angle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The user then walks back and forth, supposedly looking for vibrations at the bottom of the V as a sign of water hidden beneath the ground.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"550\" height=\"290\" src=\"https:\/\/pulsperry.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/AFT-203-1.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1819\" srcset=\"https:\/\/pulsperry.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/AFT-203-1.png 550w, https:\/\/pulsperry.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/AFT-203-1-300x158.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 550px) 100vw, 550px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Dowsing with metal rods was originally used in the 1500s to find metals in the ground.
