Doctors couldn\u2019t work out how she got pregnant after having a procedure to block sperm from reaching her ovaries<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Lorraine had her Fallopian tubes tied six years ago.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But, in a case that had endlessly puzzled<\/a> doctors, she got pregnant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The\u00a0New Yorker<\/a>\u00a0already had two kids with her husband, but the pair didn\u2019t want a third, so Lorraine had the surgical procedure to \u2013 supposedly \u2013 ensure that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI got my Fallopian tubes tied about six years ago,\u201d Lorraine told TLC\u2019s Extraordinary Pregnancies<\/em> .<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI told the doctor, \u2018do what you\u2019ve gotta do\u2019, I\u2019ve already got a boy and a girl I don\u2019t need anymore.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some might call Lorraine\u2019s pregnancy miraculous<\/a> .<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI came to my mother\u2019s house and I said \u2018I think I need to get a pregnancy test,\u2019\u201d she explained, after noticing there was something wrong with her body.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mum Tammy told the TV show that she didn\u2019t think pregnancy was possible, but urged her daughter to check.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And the pregnancy test came back positive. Everyone was a little shocked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lorraine decided to keep her baby, despite a significant chance of complications because of her weight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She is morbidly obese<\/a> and has a BMI of more than 70. She said that she\u2019s had issues with her weight since school.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI have always been on the larger side since maybe 2nd grade,\u201d said Lorraine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Her doctor, Robert Silverman, said: \u201cLorraine\u2019s pregnancy is an extraordinary pregnancy because you\u2019re dealing with a subgroup of patients who we know have a dramatic increase in complications.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the TV show, you follow Lorraine through her pregnancy, from the scans to the surgery she needed to give birth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fortunately, her son was born healthy. Lorraine and her husband named him Dallas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHe\u2019s beautiful, the pain is worth it to completely family,\u201d Lorraine said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Although she did admit that \u201cthere will be zero more babies for the family.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Well, hopefully.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
