The hit anthology series, which first began in 2011, tells a different story in each episode with a different set of characters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It tackles social issues such as the reliance on technology and corruption in authority.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite viewers being aware of the dark and disturbing nature of Black Mirror,<\/em> the first episode of the latest series is having viewers consider cancelling their Netflix subscription.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first episode of season 6 is called \u2018Joan is Awful\u2019 and it follows a woman named Joan, played by Annie Murphy (Schitt\u2019s Creek).<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

After having to fire someone at work, the woman admits to her therapist that she finds her fianc\u00e9 boring and that she has even considered hooking up with an old fling \u2013 she then goes home to watch something on Streamberry (Black Mirror\u2019s <\/em>version of Netflix).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, she is left shocked when she sees a new show called \u2018Joan is Awful\u2019 starring Salma Hayek as her.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the show, the From Dusk Till Dawn <\/em>actress plays a dramatised version of Joan who re-acts every moment of her life to the finest detail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Shocked by what she is seeing on the screen, she tracks down the actress to find out what is going on \u2013 but learns that she is equally confused too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After speaking to her lawyer, Joan learns that Strawberry is legally allowed to do this as this was part of the Terms & Conditions she signed when signing up for the subscription service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After this revelation, viewers have been left horrified and have taken to social media to react to the Black Mirror <\/em>episode \u2018Joan is Awful\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One fan says: \u201cSo Season 6, Episode 1 of Black Mirror<\/em> has convinced me to cancel Netflix. Lol.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201c\u2018Joan is Awful\u2019 got me ready to cancel my Netflix subscription,\u201d adds someone else.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A third viewer comments: \u201cEveryone going to read Netflix\u2019s terms and conditions after watching \u2018Joan is Awful\u2019.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMe rushing to cancel all of my streaming subscriptions just in case they make a show about me,\u201d another person jokes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A fifth viewer asks: \u201cSoooo I should cancel my Netflix aka Streamberry account\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIs this a subtle way that Netflix is telling us that they are watching our lives for content?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While another person adds: \u201cMe reading Netflix\u2019s terms and conditions and cancelling my subscription after watching \u2018Joan is Awful\u2019.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
