However, in the hours following, it was revised to 5.2.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The earthquake struck at 10:16 PM local time on Monday, with its epicenter located 14 km southwest of Arkesini, in the waters between Santorini and Amorgos, according to the Greek newspaper Kathimerini.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lindi.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/94952351-14382349-Residents_and_tourists_scramble_to_leave_Greek_island_on_ferries-a-14_1739222033565_11zon.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-112508\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>Vasilis Karastathis, director of the Geodynamic Institute, confirmed the earthquake registered 5.3 on the Richter scale but reassured that it was not a major event.
