She\u2019s five, full of energy, and the light of our lives. Recently, she started refusing to cut her hair, saying she wanted it long for her \u201creal daddy.\u201d Sara, my wife, and I were confused until we learned that Lily\u2019s grandmother, Carol, had told her that I wasn\u2019t her real dad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Carol said Lily needed to keep her hair long so I\u2019d recognize her when \u201cher real daddy\u201d returned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sara and I were devastated. We confronted Carol, and she downplayed the situation, claiming it was just a story. But when she made a hurtful comment about Sara\u2019s past, we decided to cut ties with her.
