I was finally prepared to marry the woman I loved; the wedding was about to take place in exactly one week. After months of preparation, everything had finally clicked. She had always appeared courteous, perhaps a little distant, but nothing out of the norm, and our interactions had been limited to a handful of occasions. I distinctly recall checking my texts on my phone and seeing her name appear. Until I opened the image, I didn\u2019t give it much thought, even though it was strange.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Momentary Image That Shifted Everything<br>At first look, the picture didn\u2019t seem complicated. Standing before a mirror, the bridesmaid wore a breathtaking black gown that accentuated her shape to perfection. It wasn\u2019t just her, though, that piqued my interest. Standing by her side, decked out in her wedding gown, my fianc\u00e9e could be seen gazing into the mirror at the bridesmaid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>My fianc\u00e9e\u2019s expression gave me the willies. It was a strange sort of admiration, unlike what one would expect from a friend. Something profound was there, an intensity I couldn\u2019t quite identify.
