Hanks portrayed Doug, a Trump admirer wearing an American Eagle T-shirt and a \u201cMake America Great Again\u201d cap.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Doug surprised host Darnell Hayes (played by Kenan Thompson) by correctly answering every question, despite presumptions that the quiz was targeted at the Black community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The irony was increased when Hayes once reached out to shake Doug\u2019s hand. Doug is reluctant at first, but he finally accepts the handshake.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cDon\u2019t like that, whoa, whoa, whoa,\u201d says Hanks\u2019 character, before he suggests, \u201cMaybe I\u2019ll start a show for you to come on and we\u2019ll call it \u2018White Jeopardy.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The irony was increased when Hayes once reached out to shake Doug\u2019s hand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Conservative voters are furiously criticizing Tom Hanks on the internet.<br>Trump supporters strongly reacted negatively to the sketch, which prompted a barrage of criticism directed at Tom Hanks, SNL, and NBC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Many viewers vented their annoyance on social media, accusing the portrayal of being unfair and outdated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Benny Johnson, a conservative pundit, responded angrily, saying, \u201cDonald Trump has never been more popular with Americans and just won a landslide election.\u201d They haven\u2019t gained any knowledge<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"526\" height=\"590\" src=\"https:\/\/pulsperry.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/1003185806.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-54108\" srcset=\"https:\/\/pulsperry.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/1003185806.jpg 526w, https:\/\/pulsperry.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/1003185806-267x300.jpg 267w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 526px) 100vw, 526px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The controversy surrounding the purpose and significance of the sketch was further stoked when well-known right-wing pundit Mario Nawfal chimed in, referring to the humorous segment as \u201ctone deaf.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cHollywood still doesn\u2019t get it: portraying Trump supporters as racist caricatures while he\u2019s winning record minority support,\u201d said Benny Johnson, who criticized the sketch. SNL\u2019s 2025 attempt at 2016 jokes<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Former Robert F. Kennedy Jr. aide Link Lauren also voiced disapproval, arguing that the sketch suggested that a large portion of Trump\u2019s supporters are racist: \u201cTrump won the popular vote.\u201d It\u2019s disgusting to use the cliche that MAGA is racist. For snobbish liberal elites, Saturday Night Live is an unfunny show.
