Yet there are still parents who are ready to engage in it, including singer Kelly Clarkson.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yes, the famous singer is one such mom, and she defended her decision during a radio\u00a0interview in 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kelly, who has two kids, River Rose, 8, and Remy, 6, said that she \u201cis not above spanking\u201d in terms of discipline. \u201cI don\u2019t mean hitting her hard,\u201d she said. \u201cI just mean a little spanking.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was something she grew up with and she doesn\u2019t find anything wrong with it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMy parents spanked me, I did fine in life and I feel fine about it.\u201d Kelly, who grew up in Texas, said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI\u2019m from the South, y\u2019all, so we get spankings. My mom would call the principal if I ever ended up in the principal\u2019s office and give permission for her to spank me\u2026I\u2019m a well-rounded individual with a lot of character, so I think it\u2019s fine.\u201d\\<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Clarkson, who is not only an accomplish singer, songwriter, author, and TV personality, recently received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The American Idol<\/em> star admitted her way of parenting is controversial and finds it difficult when she\u2019s in public and needs to discipline her children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThat\u2019s a tricky thing, when you\u2019re out in public, because then people are like\u2013they think that\u2019s wrong or something, but I find nothing wrong with a spanking,\u201d she said.\u00a0\u201cI do believe in spanking, so you might catch me spanking my child at th zoo.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But added she warns her children beforehand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
