After selecting an aisle seat with extra legroom for my long flight, a woman in her late thirties approached with her husband. She demanded, &#8220;You need to switch seats with me. I accidentally booked the wrong one.&#8221; When I refused, she scoffed, insisting I didn\u2019t need all that space.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Her husband added, &#8220;Be reasonable. You don\u2019t need to be up here.&#8221; Annoyed but calm, I stood up and handed over my boarding pass, pretending to comply. As I walked to the back of the plane, a flight attendant whispered, &#8220;They tricked you. They\u2019re supposed to be in row 12.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Determined to turn the tables, I devised a plan. Later, I spoke with the chief purser and explained the deception. She offered me miles as compensation and a first-class upgrade for my next flight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As we descended, the couple\u2019s smug attitude turned to embarrassment when the purser revealed they weren\u2019t even married.
