Michelle Obama, the former First Lady of the United States, has been in the news consistently even after her husband, Barack Obama, was done with his two Presidential terms.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

These days, they have been making headlines, sparking rumors about a possible divorce. Some even went as far as to claim that Barack had already moved on.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Michelle Obama and Barack Obama are no strangers to the rumor mill. With both of them serving two terms in the highest office in the land, they are well versed with how to navigate speculation surrounding their relationship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The former first lady, has shared how she and her husband manage to rise above all the rumors that may swirl about their relationship. The couple made an appearance at SWSW.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cPeople always ask me and Barack, how did we stay hopeful in, not just the eight years that we were in the White House, but beyond?\u201d Michelle said as she taped the new podcast called, IMO With Michelle Obama<\/a> and Craig Robinson.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cBecause, let me tell you, there was a lot of negative energy flipping our way \u2014 a lot of rumors, a lot of gossip, a lot of, you know, my husband wasn\u2019t born in this country \u2026 we weren\u2019t patriotic, he didn\u2019t get into Harvard.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cBut through it all, what kept us sane \u2014 and we tried to instill this in our daughters \u2014 is, you cannot live through social media,\u201d\u201d she said, adding that she\u2019s fairly sure she\u2019s never\u201d she went on to say that she is sure she has never \u201conce looked at a comment section.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDon\u2019t let that negative energy enter into your space. These are people who don\u2019t know you. A lot of this stuff is made up, and it does not feed you,\u201d she explained.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThat doesn\u2019t mean you don\u2019t stay informed, but staying informed has nothing to do with the comment section. It has everything to do with the content of the stories that you take in.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She said<\/a> she feels these days people feel \u201cso trapped by social media that we feel so caught up into the one way we get information.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve got to broaden our spectrum, and we have to get off the phone,\u201d she ended.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Michelle and Barack have recently found themselves subject to unfounded rumors about a divorce<\/a>. These were further fueled by the former President attending social events solo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He was photographed earlier this year alone at Jimmy Cater\u2019s funeral as well as Trump\u2019s 2025 inauguration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, a source had provided an explanation as to why Michelle was missing. Simply, because she has now \u201ccheck out\u201d of the DC life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The speculation surrounding their marriage was further discouraged by Barack Obama<\/a> when he posted a sweet birthday wish for his wife by sharing a picture of them from Valentine\u2019s day. In the caption for the picture, he called her the \u201clove of [his] life.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The couple have been married for over thirty years and share daughters Malia, 26, and Sasha, 23.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
