A man who was cut in half by a forklift has shared a horrifying photo of the moment it fell on him. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Loren Schauers, from Montana, U.S.A.<\/a>, was 19 years old when he plummeted off the side of a bridge driving a forklift truck in 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the accident, the industrial truck crushed the lower of his body and one of his arms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now, Loren has provided further detail on the traumatic experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Loren\u2019s life was saved through a rare and complex procedure known as hemicorporectomy, a surgery in which a person\u2019s lower half is amputated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The National Library of Medicine<\/a> elaborates: \u201cIn hemicorporectomy, or trans lumbar amputation, the bony pelvis, pelvic contents, lower extremities, and external g**italia are removed following disarticulation of the lumbar spine and transection of the spinal cord.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Loren\u2019s arm which was squashed in the accident was also partially amputated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following the life-changing ordeal, he and his wife Sabia set up a YouTube channel where they often hold Q&As.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In one video, Loren revealed how he goes to the bathroom<\/a> following his hemicorporectomy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He explained that he had a colostomy, which is a surgery to create an opening in the large intestines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As Healthline<\/a> explains: \u201cColostomies are performed due to problems with the lower bowel and create new pathways for stools to pass.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Loren added that he also has bilateral nephrectomies, which are \u2018tubes that go into my kidneys that drain my kidneys into bags so, therefore, that is how I poop, pee and fart.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In another Q&A, Loren opened up about his life after the accident and how it has affected his friendships<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One person asked him: \u201cDo your friends still treat you the same way they used to before the accident? Are you happy, surprised, or disappointed by some of them?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In response, Loren said (per MailOnline<\/a>): \u201cI\u2019ve been a little surprised by some of them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cA couple of friends came out of the woodworks and have been really supportive, [others] totally reverted and have been reclusive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Loren has also recounted the day of his life-changing accident<\/a> and how he was \u2018conscious the whole time.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He recalled being thrown from the forklift at the end of the hill and landing on his hips and right forearm. A piece of his arm muscle lay on the ground next to him, blown apart.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Loren has a shared photo from the accident, as reported by the Daily Star<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The news outlet reports that he uploaded images on Instagram<\/a> and in one, he says he can be seen \u2018pinned under the forklift\u2019 if you look closely.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
