As he approached, a mischievous glint lit his eyes. Waving over the driver, he asked, \u201cCould I ask you a favor?\u201d \u201cOf course, Your Holiness!\u201d the driver replied eagerly. \u201cI never get to drive anymore,\u201d the Pope said. \u201cWould you mind letting me take the wheel?\u201d Though hesitant, the driver couldn\u2019t say no. But when the officer saw who was driving, he backed away in shock and called his sergeant. \u201cI\u2019ve pulled over a limo, but the driver is\u2026 someone really important.\u201d \u201cMore important than the mayor?\u201d the sergeant asked. \u201cMuch more.\u201d \u201cThe governor?\u201d \u201cStill higher.\u201d \u201cThe President?\u201d \u201cEven higher.\u201d \u201cThen who is it?!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The officer hesitated. \u201cI don\u2019t know\u2026 but the Pope is driving for him.\u201d In another lighthearted twist, a priest was once pulled over for speeding. As the officer approached, he caught a strong smell of alcohol and spotted an empty wine bottle on the floor. \u201cFather, have you been drinking?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cJust water, officer,\u201d the priest replied. \u201cThen why do I smell wine?\u201d The priest looked down and exclaimed, \u201cGood Lord, He\u2019s done it again!\u201d Both stories remind us that even the holiest among us aren\u2019t above a bit of mischief\u2014and that sometimes, faith and humor go hand in hand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>An elderly Pope landed in New York City, not to a grand procession but to a waiting limousine.
