My house was peaceful before my husband\u2019s best friend, Alex, moved in during his home renovations. Jake invited him without asking me. I was upset, but he apologized sweetly, so I relented. That was my mistake.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The house quickly became chaotic. Alex\u2019s room reeked, filled with trash and dirty laundry. Jake and Alex stayed up late gaming and drinking, while I struggled to sleep and clean. I felt invisible\u2014unheard, overwhelmed, and completely alone in my own home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Moreover, I was growing lonely. I discovered the kitchen in disarray one night after a long day at work. The counter had crumbs, the sink had dirty dishes, and the floor had a strange sticky material.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My patience ran out! \u201cThis has to STOP!\u201d I said to myself with gritted teeth and fists. I confronted Alex alone with my husband. However, he and his pal were inseparable, making Jake hard to get.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When I saw my spouse alone, I confronted him. \u201cJake, can we talk?\u201d I called from the doorway of his home office, where he was working while Alex played another video game in the living room.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jake dismissed my plea for help, calling me negative. So, I dumped all the trash from the house into his office\u2014his sacred workspace. He was furious, but I reminded him, \u201cJust one room, right?\u201d That woke him up. When the mess returned, I left for the weekend. Jake cracked. By Monday, he begged me to come back\u2014and this time, the house was clean, and Alex was gone. Lesson learned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
