During recent public appearances, former president Donald Trump displayed mysterious red marks on his hand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The marks could be spotted on his thumb, index finger and palm as he waved to cameras.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This led to speculations over the cause, and according to some, the issue with Trump\u2019s hand could be a result of a fall, a hand herpes, or even ketchup.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Joshua Zeichner, an associate professor of dermatology at the Mount Sinai Hospital, was questioned of the potential reasons for the appearance of the red marks. Speaking to Business Insider, he explained, \u201cRashes on the hands can be caused by a variety of factors, ranging from infections to inflammatory conditions to external exposures.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Of course, he added that it is not possible to diagnose a skin ailment from a single photo.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Further, Zeichner offered four explanations for Trump\u2019s hand rashes, most of which are certainly less intriguing than the theories floating around the internet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His hands are too dry?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the reasons for Trump\u2019s red marks could be that his hands are too dry. The former president once revealed he\u2019s been a \u201cgermophobe,\u201d so this hypothesis of him likely washing his hands too often and making them dry may hold merit. Dry hands may also be a result of cold weather.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Being a passionate golf player, Trump spends time at the golf court and enjoys the game, so according to Dr. Zeicher, the red marks may result from \u201cfriction from activities like golf, weightlifting, or baseball.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There was lime juice on his hands?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cEven exposure to lime juice in the presence of sunlight can cause a chemical burn to the skin,\u201d or \u201cmargarita burn,\u201d according to Zeichner. Trump doesn\u2019t consume alcohol, but a zesty mocktail can leave welts on your skin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The exact reason for Trump\u2019s red marks on his hand can\u2019t be stated judging from a photo. It can simply be an insect bite, who knows.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During both presidential campaigns, past and present, Trump has bragged about his perfect health state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As per a medical report signed by Trump\u2019s personal doctor, the former president and business mogul\u2019s general health is \u201cexcellent.\u201d Trump shared a report proclaiming his \u201cexceptional\u201d cognitive health on the day of Joe Biden\u2019s 81st birthday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Regarding the weight Trump lost, the letter by his doctor states it\u2019s a result of \u201can improved diet and continued daily physical activity.\u201d Further, the doctor claimed Trumps \u201claboratory analysis\u201d came back more favorable than in prior testing without specific metrics listed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2015, Trump\u2019s doctor said he would be \u201cthe healthiest person ever elected to the presidency.\u201d The doctor later admitted that the patient had written the note.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This isn\u2019t the first time Trump\u2019s health to be widely spoken about. During his time at the White House, his physical and mental health came under scrutiny and some even saw him unfit as a head of the country. made headlines for days by talking about how well he did on a test of dementia that he said was an intelligence test. He said the questions were about picking out an elephant and saying \u201cPerson. Woman. Man. Camera. TV\u201d over and over.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
