From\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/boreddaddy.com\/prince-harry-in-tears-as-king-charles-makes-brutal-new-announcement\/\">Harry<\/a>\u00a0and Meghan stepping down from their royal duties and the ongoing feud with them, to Kate Middleton\u2019s cancer diagnosis and his own cancer battle, the King has faced an array of challenges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">While his battle with cancer is ongoing, his return to royal duties and even plans for overseas visits speak volumes about his improved health.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Although the Palace hasn\u2019t revealed the exact type of cancer the king was diagnosed with, Laura Lee, chief executive of the cancer support charity Maggie\u2019s\u2013which Queen Camilla is president of, said many cancer treatments take a lot of time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"768\" height=\"494\" src=\"https:\/\/pulsperry.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/1000012948.webp\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-60188\" srcset=\"https:\/\/pulsperry.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/1000012948.webp 768w, https:\/\/pulsperry.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/1000012948-300x193.webp 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s very common for treatment to be ongoing for very long periods of time, as is the treatment that\u00a0the Princess of Wales went through, which is an intense period of treatment over a year, and then it comes to a point where it\u2019s on an end, and she\u2019s on that recovery from some of the impacts of her treatment,\u201d Lee told\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/news.sky.com\/story\/kings-cancer-treatment-will-continue-in-2025-13276684\">Sky News<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cSo we\u2019ve got immunotherapy, chemotherapy, surgery, hormone therapy. There are all sorts of different treatment modalities. And so it\u2019s not surprising at all.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She continued: \u201cWhat we\u2019ve heard from our centre visitors, it\u2019s been good that they haven\u2019t just shone a light on one specific cancer type, but they\u2019ve shone a light on cancer as a whole, and that there\u2019s varying treatment and varying impacts and varying different ways of navigating the challenges that cancer bring. And I think that approach has been much more effective and positive for the cancer community. Further, the visit will be &nbsp;\u201ccelebrating the strong bilateral relationship between Italy and the United Kingdom,\u201d&nbsp;as per the Palace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">In the past, King Charles had visited Italy 17 times, but this would be his first as the head of the monarchy.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>However, no matter how much the public is looking forward to seeing the King taking more royal duties, royal expert Daniela Elser\u00a0believes that his cancer diagnosis is still giving the Palace a headache.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Elser\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.news.com.au\/entertainment\/celebrity-life\/royals\/painfully-hard-to-ignore-grim-new-king-charles-photo-exposes-royal-crisis\/news-story\/71f8d3aca9b273bf7a6941506a830e66\">made a comparison<\/a>\u00a0between two photos of the King taken at a time difference of four years. One taken recently, and the other one in 2020, in Jerusalem, Israel.
