Cameron Diaz stirred up conversation with a bold take on married life during the Lipstick On The Rim<\/em> podcast on Dec. 19. The actress suggested that society should \u201cnormalize separate bedrooms\u201d for spouses, citing snoring and sleep disturbances as major reasons. \u201cTo me, I would literally have my house, you have yours, and a family house in the middle,\u201d Diaz said. For intimacy, she offered a playful compromise: \u201cWe have the bedroom in the middle that we can convene in for our relations.\u201d Though she clarified that her current setup with husband Benji Madden is different, she stood by her original view.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Diaz and Madden have been married since January 2015<\/a>, and they share one daughter, Raddix Madden, whom they welcomed in 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Though they keep their relationship private for the most part, Diaz has previously opened up about their marriage<\/a>. Back in 2016, she told Harper\u2019s Bazaar<\/em> about her and Madden\u2019s relationship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI got married last year. That was the biggest thing I’ve done in my 40s, and it opened me up in different ways,\u201d she said at the time. \u201cIt’s pretty awesome. I didn’t think it was something I’d do, and I don’t know if I’d have done it if I hadn’t met my husband. It was a surprise.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Madden has publicly gushed over his wife, too. For Diaz\u2019s birthday in August, he wrote a lengthy caption dedicated to her<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI\u2019m off line mostly these days, just working, painting, making things and doing family life, but I have grown to like my little tradition of coming back on special occasions to show love to my Queen,\u201d Madden wrote at the time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYou do it all,\u201d Madden continued. \u201cSo grateful to have our family and I am one lucky man – I know that seems obvious but it really is nice to say it out loud now and then when you\u2019re feeling it. I love you \u2022forever \u2022always \u2022yours \u2022true love.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
