After a long day of work, family, dinner, and maybe a little relaxation, most of us just collapse into bed and hope for enough shut-eye before it all starts again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But did you know your sleeping position can impact your health?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Most people have a preferred sleep posture\u2014left side, right side, or even flat on their back. But research suggests sleeping on your <strong>left side<\/strong> can offer real health benefits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For starters, it may ease <strong>heartburn<\/strong> and <strong>acid reflux<\/strong> by keeping the stomach below the esophagus. It also aids the <strong>spleen<\/strong> and <strong>liver<\/strong>, improving blood flow and supporting detoxification. Pregnant women are often advised to sleep on their left, as it improves blood circulation and reduces liver pressure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Left-side sleeping may also help with <strong>bowel movement<\/strong>, thanks to gravity assisting waste flow from the small to large intestine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That said, comfort is key. If left-side sleeping causes shoulder pain or discomfort, don\u2019t force it.
