Neighbors alerted him early Thursday, May 22, in Byneset near Trondheim. Helberg recalled a friend saying, \u201cHave you not seen the ship?\u201d as the vessel narrowly missed hitting his home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/en33.usnews.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/ncl-salten-ship-052325-4-307813f3142c4d23afe80252efc1e236.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-12012\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe doorbell rang at a time when I don\u2019t really like opening the door,\u201d Helberg told Sky News. \u201cI like to go back to sleep. But it was a very insistent ring, so I finally went to answer it.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAnd there\u2019s a guy I know very well standing there, looking at me in amazement and saying, \u2018Have you not seen the ship?\u2019 \u201d Helberg continued.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cBut I hadn\u2019t. So I went to the window and saw this [the ship],\u201d Helberg added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/en33.usnews.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/ncl-salten-ship-052325-3-31763ad08e1b4303a2b90e71a848db56.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-12013\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>PEOPLE has contacted the Norwegian Cruise Line and the Norwegian Police for comment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The astonished man told The Guardian that he had to \u201cbend my neck\u201d to see the top of the ship. \u201cIt was so unreal.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cFive meters further south and it would have entered the bedroom,\u201d he told the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation, per the BBC. \u201cI didn\u2019t hear anything.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/pulsperry.com\/?p=60906\">also read&#8230;<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A Norwegian man, Johan Helberg, was shocked to find a 135-meter container ship grounded just meters from his backyard.
