Clarkson said it was \u2018tricky\u2019 to smack her children in public
Parents everywhere are divided the world over on the issue of smacking, but Kelly Clarkson isn\u2019t so on the fence over the issue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The American Idol winner has said she\u2019s \u201cnot above\u201d smacking, admitting, \u201cI do that\u201d, and has even spoken about the difficulties of disciplining her children in public.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Clarkson said it becomes \u201ctricky\u201d to spank her kids out in public, because smacking is frowned upon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking on Atlanta Radio station 94.1 in 2018, Clarkson said: \u201cI\u2019m not above a spanking, which people aren\u2019t necessarily into. I don\u2019t mean hitting her hard, I just mean a spanking.\u201d
The Kelly Clarkson Show host went on: \u201cMy parents spanked me, and I did fine in life, and I feel fine about it, and I do that as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThat\u2019s a tricky thing, when you\u2019re out in public, because then people are like, they think that\u2019s wrong or something, but I find nothing wrong with a spanking.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Clarkson did, however, say she doesn\u2019t just smack her kids on the spot. Rather she warns them first.
She said: \u201cI\u2019m like, \u2018Hi, I\u2019m going to spank you on your bottom if you don\u2019t stop right now, this is ridiculous\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHonestly it\u2019s really helped. She doesn\u2019t do that kind of stuff as often.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is not known if Clarkson\u2019s views on smacking have changed in recent years.
Clarkson shares two children with her ex-husband Brandon Blackstock, daughter River Rose, eight, and son Remington Alexander, six.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She often speaks candidly about parentings, and has told of the \u201cmum guilt\u201d she experienced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She told Redbook in 2016: \u201cI have a lot of mum guilt. If you\u2019re a mum, you want to be with your kid every day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYou don\u2019t want to miss a moment, you want her to need you and want you and not want somebody else.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Clarkson added: \u201cI\u2019m not gonna BS you, that\u2019s hard. There are days where I cry and I\u2019m like, \u2018I don\u2019t know if I can handle all this!\u2019 or get it all done.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cBut at the end of the day, 99 percent of the time, it\u2019s awesome and it\u2019s worth it, and that\u2019s what I say to myself.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The star also told how having children \u201cbrought fear into her life\u201d, because before she became a mum she was \u201cfearless\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
