A 16-year-old girl died after starting birth control pills. The girl was identified as Layla Khan and was a resident of a city in the United Kingdom. Her death was confirmed last Wednesday (13\/12).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Layla was a student and often experienced severe discomfort during her menstrual cycles. Because of this, the teenager was advised to start taking birth control pills to try to alleviate the problem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
However, after starting the pills, Layla began experiencing intense headaches followed by nausea and vomiting. The teenager felt ill, and her family heard her fall unconscious in the bathroom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The young woman was diagnosed with a blood clot in her brain. Layla\u2019s family expressed their shock over the loss and expressed their grief in a post online.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201c I have no words to describe the pain I feel. Our family is devastated. First it was Grandma, and now Layla. With Christmas right around the corner, the pain is even greater,<\/strong> \u201d wrote Alicia Binns, the teen\u2019s cousin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Alicia posted a post on the GoFundMe website, which aims to raise money for important causes. \u201c On Sunday (10\/12), Layla was extremely sick and vomiting every 30 minutes<\/strong> ,\u201d recalls Jenna Braithwaite, the young woman\u2019s aunt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n She says that the next day, Layla was taken to a hospital, but the staff there said there was no reason to take her to the emergency room.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Layla returned home but became ill again and returned to the hospital, where the blood clot was detected. She underwent surgery but did not survive.
