{"id":62705,"date":"2025-06-04T20:10:36","date_gmt":"2025-06-04T20:10:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pulsperry.com\/?p=62705"},"modified":"2025-06-04T20:10:37","modified_gmt":"2025-06-04T20:10:37","slug":"san-bernardino-coun","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pulsperry.com\/?p=62705","title":{"rendered":"San Bernardino Coun."},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/en33.usnews.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/6e4de978eff6136536c5465bfaf3530b.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-13939\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The Department of Justice announced that Thomas Eugene Streavel, 73, of Yucca Valley, was arrested on Monday and arraigned on Tuesday in Riverside on a three-count federal grand jury indictment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe indictment alleges several instances in which Streavel knowingly and willfully threatened to kill and inflict bodily harm on Donald Trump, who then was the President-elect of the United States,\u201d the DOJ said in a release.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the indictment, Streavel allegedly posted multiple messages on Facebook containing deadly threats during the weeks surrounding, but especially following, the highly anticipated Nov. 5, 2024, Presidential Election.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The DOJ noted that for an undisclosed amount of time before the election, Streavel purportedly posted messages to Facebook, \u201cexpressing his desire to harm or have others harm President Trump.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, the charges he now faces mainly concern the explicit messages he posted after the election about assassinating Trump.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Starting the day after the election, Streavel allegedly posted a message that read, \u201c[T]rump is a dead man walking for the time being until a patriot like myself blows his [expletive] brains out in the very near future.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The DOJ then provided the following list detailing more of Streavel\u2019s messages:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On Nov. 12, 2024, Streavel posted a message on Facebook that read, in part, that he was \u201cwilling to make America great again and blow his [expletive] brains out.\u201d<br>On Nov. 19, 2024, Streavel posted a Facebook message that read, in part, \u201cLet me put a bullet right between the ears of your president-elect\u2026That\u2019s my purpose for living.\u201d<br>On Nov. 28, 2024, Streavel wrote on Facebook, \u201cI\u2019m praying for a successful assassination of your president-elect\u201d and \u201cMy life\u2019s mission is killing the worthless LOSER [expletive] and my mission starts tonight so watch yourself trump [sic], you are a dead [expletive] and I am your assassin.\u201d<br>Tuesday\u2019s announcement did not say whether there is any current proof that Streavel planned to follow through with the threats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During his arraignment, Streavel pleaded not guilty to all charges, which, if convicted, could mean a statutory maximum sentence of five years in federal prison for each count.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis defendant is charged with threatening the life of our President \u2013 a man who has already survived two deranged attempts on his life,\u201d said Attorney General Pamela Bondi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A judge ordered Streavel to be released on $10,000 bond, and a trial date was scheduled for July 28.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe type of rhetoric and threats made by this defendant are similar to those that led to an attempt on the President\u2019s life last year,\u201d said United States Attorney Bill Essayli. \u201cThere is no place for political violence or threats of violence in the United States.
