On May 11, after leaving the hospital in Austin to check on his other children, Taylor was tragically killed by an intoxicated driver traveling over 100 mph. The suspect, 34-year-old Rodney Bremby, was arrested and charged with intoxication manslaughter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"683\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/pulsperry.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/image-227-683x1024.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-62954\" srcset=\"https:\/\/pulsperry.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/image-227-683x1024.png 683w, https:\/\/pulsperry.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/image-227-200x300.png 200w, https:\/\/pulsperry.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/image-227.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 683px) 100vw, 683px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Fire Chief James Kubinski described Taylor as a committed husband and father, often working overtime to support his growing family. Taylor had been with the Killeen Fire Department since 2014 and recently doubled its training division applicant pool. He was also honored with a Medal of Valor for rescuing a stranger from floodwaters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/en33.usnews.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/Captain-Marvin-Taylor-III-memorial-3-052725-a5fd5fb29f7942e797e6a09538f33985.jpg\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>His death has left the department and his family in disbelief. His wife is now navigating life with a newborn, without the man who always put his family first.
