But what should\u2019ve been a joyful moment quickly turned controversial.<\/p>\n

Riley Gaines Takes a Jab<\/h3>\n

Retired U.S. swimmer Riley Gaines responded to the post by mocking the school. She wrote, \u201cComments off lol. To be expected when your star player is a boy.\u201d<\/p>\n

Her message sparked outrage\u2014and a fiery response from Olympic gymnast Simone Biles.<\/p>\n

Simone Biles Fires Back<\/h3>\n

Biles replied directly to Gaines:<\/p>\n

\u201c@Riley_Gaines_ You\u2019re truly sick, all of this campaigning because you lost a race. Straight up sore loser [sic].\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

She urged Gaines to support inclusivity in sports and consider working toward a separate category for transgender athletes. Biles also accused Gaines of bullying trans individuals, claiming her actions create an unsafe environment.<\/p>\n
