My First Time Landed Me in the Hospital \u2013 Here’s Why We Need Better Sex Education<\/strong><\/p>\n

The first time I had sex, I ended up in the hospital. What should\u2019ve been an awkward rite of passage turned into a traumatic, blood-soaked emergency. I wasn\u2019t prepared\u2014physically, mentally, or emotionally. There was no foreplay, no comfort, and I didn\u2019t feel safe. The pain was immediate, and the bleeding was terrifying. I soaked through multiple pads, fainted, and was rushed to A&E with tears in my eyes and fear in my chest.<\/p>\n

Doctors discovered I had vaginal tears from rough, unprepared penetration. I stayed in the hospital for two nights. I couldn\u2019t tell my parents\u2014I wasn\u2019t even supposed to be having sex.<\/p>\n

That experience taught me that first time sex should never<\/em> be painful, and bleeding isn\u2019t normal for everyone. What\u2019s missing in our culture is real, pleasure-focused sex education. Young girls are left to learn through pain instead of knowledge.<\/p>\n

Today, sex feels different\u2014safe, empowering, and enjoyable\u2014because I waited until I was truly ready. If I could go back, I\u2019d tell myself: Your body matters. Your pleasure matters. And you deserve to feel ready, every time.<\/p>\n
