Kate Winslet was left with \u201clots of bruises\u201d after filming a steamy scene in the 2006 drama Little Children<\/em> alongside co-star Patrick Wilson. The film, which follows an unhappy housewife who begins an affair with a married neighbor, earned critical acclaim and landed Winslet an Oscar nomination for Best Actress\u2014though it wasn\u2019t a box office hit.<\/p>\n

One infamous scene, shot in a laundry room, featured both actors nude, though modesty garments were used. At the time, intimacy coordinators were not part of Hollywood sets. Wilson later said on The Hollywood Reporter<\/em> podcast that Winslet was a true professional: \u201cThere was never one awkward moment. She was so cool and gracious.\u201d<\/p>\n

Winslet later revealed the scene left her sore, admitting, \u201cMy hips and backside really hurt the next day.\u201d In hindsight, she expressed strong support for intimacy coordinators, wishing she\u2019d had one \u201cevery single time\u201d she filmed intimate scenes. She noted how hard it was, especially when young, to advocate for her comfort on set without being labeled difficult.<\/p>\n
