Donald Trump\u2019s niece, psychologist and author Mary Trump, is once again making headlines for her blistering commentary on the president \u2014 and this time, she\u2019s not holding anything back.<\/strong><\/p>\n President\u00a0Donald Trump<\/a>\u00a0has long projected an image of dominance and strength \u2014but a growing number of mental health experts say that beneath the bravado may lie something more fragile.<\/p>\n According to a striking analysis aired on MSNBC\u2019s The Weekend: Primetime, Trump may be\u00a0\u201chaunted\u201d<\/a>\u00a0by the fear of facing the same cognitive decline that affected his father, Fred Trump Sr., who suffered from Alzheimer\u2019s disease in his later years.<\/p>\n And now, yet another voice is joining the growing debate over Donald Trump\u2019s mental fitness \u2014 and this one hits close to home.<\/p>\n Mary Trump, the president\u2019s own niece and a trained psychologist, has long warned about her uncle\u2019s mental and emotional state. But in a new episode of her YouTube series\u00a0Trump Trolls Trump<\/a><\/em>, she takes it even further \u2014 describing his current behavior as a \u201creign of idiocy.\u201d<\/p>\n According to Mary, her uncle is spiraling further into cognitive decline.<\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019re now 166 days into the Trump regime\u2019s reign of terror, reign of confusion, reign of chaos, but also let\u2019s call it what else it is, it\u2019s a reign of idiocy,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n And she didn\u2019t stop there.<\/p>\n Mary, who previously authored the best-selling takedown\u00a0Too Much and Never Enough: How My Family Created the World\u2019s Most Dangerous Man<\/em>, pulled no punches when speaking about Donald Trump\u2019s mental state.<\/p>\n \u201cTime flies when you\u2019re having a horrible time and when democracy is slowly being strangled by a man who can\u2019t tie his own shoes,\u201d she quipped.<\/p>\n Despite the harshness of her remarks, she did \u2014 if you can call it that \u2014 acknowledge one of Trump\u2019s rare talents: blending narcissism with cognitive dysfunction. \u201cDonald is good at very, very few things but I\u2019m going to give him credit for something,\u201d she said. \u201cHe has an actually quite decent ability to mix cognitive decline with narcissism. I mean that\u2019s a twofer.\u201d<\/p>\n Mary also took a shot at Trump\u2019s recent public appearances, including a stop at the controversial new Florida immigration facility known as\u00a0Alligator Alcatraz<\/a>. When asked how long detainees would be held, Trump gave a meandering response that touched on everything from New York taxes to redecorating the Oval Office.<\/p>\n Mary was quick to slam the bizarre response: \u201cThe question, you idiot, wasn\u2019t do you like Florida?\u201d she said. \u201cThe reason he can\u2019t answer that question is because he doesn\u2019t have an answer.\u201d<\/p>\n She went on to describe the president as \u201cincreasingly far gone,\u201d adding, \u201cHe has an attention span of a toddler, although that\u2019s actually nothing new.\u201d<\/p>\n The psychologist also voiced frustration with what she sees as Trump\u2019s refusal to engage truthfully with the American public. \u201cI\u2019m sick of this thuggish lunk sitting there and denying the American people access to any truths about anything whatsoever,\u201d she said.<\/p>\nA reign of idiocy?<\/h2>\n
