In today\u2019s world, cremation has become increasingly common, offering families a practical and emotional alternative to traditional burial. But for many Christians\u2014especially older believers\u2014it raises a vital question: Is cremation a sin in God\u2019s eyes?<\/em><\/p>\n

The Bible does not explicitly forbid or command cremation. Instead, it highlights burial as a sacred tradition, practiced by patriarchs and even Jesus Himself. Scriptures like Genesis 23 and 1 Thessalonians 4:16 emphasize burial as a sign of hope in the resurrection. Some believers argue that 1 Corinthians 6:19, which calls the body a \u201ctemple of the Holy Spirit,\u201d supports burial over cremation.<\/p>\n

However, God\u2019s power is not limited by the state of our remains. Christian martyrs burned at the stake still await resurrection. The decision, as Pastor John Elliott notes, lies in the heart and motive\u2014whether chosen with reverence and faith.<\/p>\n

Cremation, once linked to pagan rituals, is now accepted by many denominations, including the Catholic Church.<\/p>\n
