{"id":70674,"date":"2025-08-05T09:58:10","date_gmt":"2025-08-05T09:58:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pulsperry.com\/?p=70674"},"modified":"2025-08-05T09:58:11","modified_gmt":"2025-08-05T09:58:11","slug":"she-went-to-the-emergency","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pulsperry.com\/?p=70674","title":{"rendered":"She went to the emergency"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>A new world record has been set up after a doctor from India removed staggering number of gallstones from a 51-year-old patient.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Minati Mondal, the patient in question, was admitted to Debdoot Sevayan Hospital in Kolkata, West Bengal, in eastern India, with severe pain in her abdomen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-video\"><video poster=\"https:\/\/video-meta.open.video\/poster\/iVCQdAvQc7dA\/t1738220217_poster.005.jpg\" src=\"blob:https:\/\/boreddaddy.com\/4367b89b-8267-4d6e-8ac5-194ac3b2719a\"><\/video><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/video-meta.open.video\/poster\/iVCQdAvQc7dA\/t1738220217_poster.005.jpg\" alt=\"video of: Poop and Colon Cancer: Early Warning Signs, When to Seek Help\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After doctor Makhan Lala Saha, a gastrointestinal endo surgeon, ran tests, it was determined that the pain and the acid reflux Mondal suffered from were caused by stones in her gallbladder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Following the hour-long laparoscopic surgery, Dr. Saha managed to remove 11,950 gallstones. It took the nurse quite some time to count them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/boreddaddy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/M.png.webp\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-58559\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>They said that they did expect a large number of gallstones, but they never believed a new world record would be set up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201c<em>I was astonished to see the large number of stones that we extracted from the gall bladder of this patient. I had never thought that a gall bladder could contain so many stones.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201c<em>It took my assistants four hours to count the number of the stones that were between 2mm and 5mm in size. It took us 50 minutes to remove them.<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr. Saha has written to the Royal College of Pathologists in London to keep the specimen in the museum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/boreddaddy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/5d012a75210000a718e7633d.webp\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-58560\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201c<em>Two months ago, I had operated on a girl who had 1,110 stones but despite the shocking number, I found that in 1983, doctors in Britain had removed 3,110 stones from a German patient\u2019s gall bladder.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201c<em>But I feel this number can replace the past record since the current number is three times more than the record.<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The patient was released from the hospital after a two-day stay and is feeling just fine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/boreddaddy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/DR.png.webp\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-58561\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Gallstones are hardened deposits of digestive fluid that can form in the gallbladder. They range in size from as small as a grain of sand to as large as a golf ball.
