The little guy stood motionless in the center, alert and waiting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To kick off his demonstration, the professor placed a slice of cake at one end of the cage and a female rat at the other.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/classic.johanshal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/2128-539x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-31648\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Without hesitation, the male rat dashed straight toward the cake and devoured it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Next, the professor swapped the cake for a piece of bread. Again, the male rat ignored the female and scurried straight to the new snack.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This routine continued\u2014cheese, crackers, fruit\u2014you name it.
