Best known for her role as public defender Christine Sullivan on the hit NBC sitcom <em>Night Court<\/em>, Post became one of television\u2019s most recognizable faces of the 1980s, appearing in 159 episodes and winning the hearts of millions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"667\" height=\"1000\" src=\"https:\/\/pulsperry.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/shutterstock_78793807.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-86232\" srcset=\"https:\/\/pulsperry.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/shutterstock_78793807.jpg 667w, https:\/\/pulsperry.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/shutterstock_78793807-200x300.jpg 200w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 667px) 100vw, 667px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Born Marjorie Post in 1950, she grew up in California in an intellectually rich household, the daughter of a nuclear physicist and a poet. Before acting, she worked behind the scenes on game shows, later transitioning to television roles on <em>The Fall Guy<\/em>, <em>Cheers<\/em>, and <em>Hart to Hart<\/em>. Married for 39 years to writer Michael A.
