We\u2019ve come a long way from how did things in the \u201960s and sometimes we can\u2019t help but smile thinking about all the nights we spent in curlers or remembering a certain scent. Getting ready isn\u2019t always easier nowadays, but every once in a while we do get nostalgic for some of the ritual of getting ready back then. Sarah Coventry Jewelry<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Who else remembers their fabulous designs? Costume jewelry took on a whole new meaning with their fanciful brooches and clip-on earrings. And they had earrings for pierced ears! Even if no one you knew sold this line of jewelry, you saw it all around. I can remember the strawberry and daisy patterns well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wearing Our Cardigans Backwards<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Buttoned up the back was the way to go. We thought we were the bees knees with this trick!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you grew up in the \u201960s then you\u2019ll remember all of these things. From the way we did our hair to the clothes we wore, the styles were very unique to the decade. And, we were willing to do some pretty incredible things to our hair to get it just right.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Searching for the Biggest Hair Curlers<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

They were essential for getting the flip just right and very useful for cresting the big hair look. And we\u2019d even use frozen juice cans if we had to!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bonnet Hairdryers<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The latest invention- guaranteed to save time and add convenience. These bonnet dryers were like a wonder to us, not that every household could afford such a luxurious item.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ratting Our Hair<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Back-combing, ratting, teasing, whatever you called it it was murder on the hair. But, it made for some incredible bouffant hairdos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the \u201960s we tried out so many of the latest fads and fashions and we had a blast while doing so. While we can\u2019t say we\u2019d go back to these styles, we certainly have fond memories of the styles we grew up with.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Capes<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

This fad morphed into the poncho fad of the \u201970s, but the capes we had in the \u201960s were thick and very stylish at the time!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Shift Dresses<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Most of them were as shapeless as could be and pretty dang short. While we wouldn\u2019t call these flattering on everyone, as young ladies we loved this look. All the better if you had a matching headband.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
