Kristen Stewart has slammed Donald Trump’s ‘terrifying’ tariff proposals targeting the movie industry, admitting she can’t ‘work freely’ in the US anymore.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The actress achieved global<\/a> stardom as Bella Swan in the Twilight<\/em><\/a> <\/em>saga and has since turned her attention to indie projects, including her directorial debut, The Chronology of Water, <\/em>which releases this February.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Having grown up in the entertainment<\/a> industry – both her parents work behind-the-scenes in Hollywood<\/a> – Kristen has seen the world of movies<\/a> evolve and explained why, under Trump<\/a>, the industry is no longer viable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking\u00a0to<\/a>\u00a0The Times, the 35-year-old explained that she shot her upcoming feature film in Latvia because it would have been ‘impossible’ to do in the\u00a0US<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Reality is breaking completely under Trump,” she said. “But we should take a page out of his book and create the reality we want to live in.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kristen Stewart didn’t hold back when it came to criticizing Trump (Olivia Wong\/FilmMagic)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She also took aim at Trump\u2019s threat to impose steep tariffs<\/a> on movies made outside the US, calling it ‘terrifying’.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a post on Truth Social, the President said that these tariffs were the result of the movie-making business<\/a> being ‘stolen from the United States of America, by other Countries’, as he claimed it was ‘DYING a very fast death’.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump’s suggestion, made in September, has not yet come to fruition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Currently, the Spencer<\/em> star splits her time between Los Angeles<\/a> and New York<\/a>, but admits that might not be the case for much longer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She told the publication she’s ‘probably not’ going to remain in the US, adding: “I can\u2019t work freely there. But I don\u2019t want to give up completely.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
