Emmy-winning actress Marla Adams, known for her role on \u201cThe Young and the Restless,\u201d has passed away at 85. The news was shared on Thursday by Matt Kane, head of media and talent for the show. According to Kane, she passed away in Los Angeles, California.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Her Rise to Fame<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Marla Adams gained fame for her portrayal of Dina Abbott Mergeron on the popular soap opera. Born in Ocean City, NJ, on August 28, 1938, Marla graduated high school in 1956 and moved to New York City to attend The American Academy of Dramatic Arts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Distinguished Career<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

In the late 1950s, Marla became a Broadway star, appearing in \u201cThe Visit\u201d with Alfred Lunt and Lynn Fontanne. She returned to the stage in 1961, performing in \u201cSplendor in the Grass\u201d with Natalie Wood. From 1968 to 1974, she played Belle Clemens on the CBS daytime drama \u201cThe Secret Storm.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Later, Marla began her role as Dina Abbott Mergeron on \u201cThe Young and the Restless.\u201d Although her contract ended after three years, she continued to make guest appearances in 1991, 1996, 2008, and 2017. Dina returned to the show in 2020, where fans witnessed her emotional final scenes. Marla won a Daytime Emmy for her performance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
