Man shows up to his wedding in jeans and t-shirt – people on the internet give opinions
A wedding is typically a formal event, with brides and grooms often setting strict dress codes. However, this particular wedding took an unexpected turn with the groom’s attire.
A TikTok creator shared a video of her friend Catherine’s wedding, noting how Catherine had sworn off love just months before but was clearly smitten by summer. A still from the video made its way to Reddit, sparking a flurry of opinions—many of them unkind. The bride, stunning in a mermaid-style white gown, traditional veil, and heavy jewelry, stood next to the groom, who wore a black t-shirt, jeans, and white sneakers.
The stark contrast in their outfits became a hot topic of discussion.
“Grooms wearing jeans at a fancy wedding,” read the Reddit caption. One commenter added, “This is probably indicative of the amount of effort he’ll put into the marriage as well.”
Another remarked, “I wonder how long this marriage lasted. She looks great, he looks like he couldn’t care.”
“He’s just letting her know she has a life of him not giving a f— about her ahead of her,” another agreed. Yet, some offered more balanced views. “She looks absolutely beautiful, I love her dress. Not sure what their circumstances are but I wish them both the best,” one user commented.
Another speculated, “Maybe she wanted a dress like this, [he] wanted the outfit he had on their first dates, both are happy the other is dressed as they like. Over or underdressed for some standards, well dressed for their own standard.”
A third chimed in, “If they are happy, then who cares? If the groom just couldn’t be a–ed then that’s very sad.”
