You need to stop doing this immediately>>>>>>>

A pelvic floor expert recently shared advice on TikTok suggesting that wiping more than three times after a bowel movement can cause irritation and damage to the skin around the anus. The expert explains that excessive wiping may be a result of “fecal smearing,” where stool remnants remain after a bowel movement, and that it can lead to skin irritation, microtears, and even infections.

To reduce the need for multiple wipes, the expert recommends a technique called the “waterfall squeeze,” where you gradually tighten and release pelvic floor muscles to help close the anal sphincter and reduce stool remnants. In addition to this technique, using wet wipes, staying hydrated, eating a high-fiber diet, and practicing pelvic floor exercises can improve bathroom hygiene. If the problem persists, medical advice should be sought.

The advice has sparked online discussion, with many expressing surprise and relief at having a solution to a common issue. However, the expert emphasizes the importance of consulting a healthcare provider for persistent problems.
