In an interview with Australia’s Today show, Washington hinted at retirement, stating, “I don’t know how many more films I’m going to make. Probably not that many.”
Among his final projects, the two-time Academy Award winner will reprise his role as Othello, a character he first portrayed at the age of 22. Washington also teased potential collaborations with directors Steve McQueen and Ryan Coogler, with reports suggesting he may feature in the next Black Panther film. Additionally, he plans to take on the role of King Lear before stepping away from acting altogether.
