Trump’s MAGA Hat Collection Raises Eyebrows
Donald Trump can’t get enough of his MAGA hats. But a closer look at his White House collection has some observers raising questions.

Exit Through the Gift Shop
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and French President Emmanuel Macron received an unusual tour during a recent visit: Donald Trump’s personal hat collection. White House assistant Margo Martin shared a photo of Trump proudly displaying rows of baseball caps, prompting journalist Olga Nesterova to joke on X, “Exit through a gift shop.”
Once Bill Clinton’s private study, the room now showcases Trump merchandise, from $399 “Never Surrender” sneakers to custom Stefano Ricci ties. Trump has even encouraged guests, including Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, to “grab what you want.”
The collection traces the evolution of Trump’s branding—from classic red MAGA hats to new colors and slogans following his 2020 loss and 2024 comeback. Elon Musk reportedly tried on a “Dark MAGA” hat, gifted by the mother of his secret child.
But one item has stirred controversy: hats labeled “Trump 2028.” Critics argue the slogan flirts with violating the 22nd Amendment, which limits presidents to two terms. Former strategist Steve Bannon has fueled speculation, suggesting “many alternatives” could secure Trump’s return.
Whether playful branding or a political signal, the hats have reignited debate about Trump’s future—and the boundaries of American democracy.
